basketballNEWSNFHS '09-'10 Rules Changes.
-Use of replay for state championship series contests to determine if a try for goal at the expiration of time in the fourth quarter or any overtime period (0:00 on the game clock) should be counted.
- When a red light behind the backboard or an LED light on the backboard is present, it is permitted to signal the expiration of time in the quarter/extra period. If no red/LED light is present, the audible timer’s signal will continue to signal the expiration of time.

Mechanics changes for '09-'10...
- In a 2 person crew when free-throws are to be attempted, the calling official will become trail and will be positioned tableside. The lead official will be positioned opposite the table. If the calling official is the trail then they should remain at trail and no switch occurs.
- In a 3 person crew the trail shall mirror the lead’s stop- and start-clock (chop) signals for frontcourt end line throw-ins.

basketballNEWSNew Faces are Coming!!
Be ready to introduce yourself to new faces! This year there has been around 70 "officials" that have participated in some level of training spending 4hrs on Saturday mornings spread over 8 Saturdays since August (thats 32hrs of training). Advanced training had 25-30 individuals who desired to "up" their officiating skills to the next level, whatever that level may be. Individuals new to basketball officiating and those with at least 1yr experience combined in a group averaging 15-20. Another group identified through the Metro Association numbered around 15 and are currently going thru 1st & 2nd yr officials training. Be sure to congratulate, welcome, introduce yourself and let's help these officials become the best they can be!
